What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive global sourcing strategies, encompassing supplier selection, qualification, rationalization, benchmarking, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and robust risk mitigation plans.
• Relationship Management: Lead and cultivate strong supplier relationships, managing contracts, negotiating pricing agreements, conducting performance assessments, and overseeing assigned category management activities to optimize outcomes.
• Cost Reduction: Deliver measurable cost reductions through diligent market analysis, precise cost modeling, competitive sourcing events, make-versus-buy analyses, and strategic global spend leverage.
• Intelligence Building: Build comprehensive supplier and market intelligence to effectively support the overarching sourcing strategy, inform capability assessments, and guide crucial business planning decisions.
• Process Improvement: Drive lean transformation and continuous improvement across all category procurement processes, executing cost reduction projects, negotiation strategies, process changes, and establishing sustainable cost controls.
• Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with engineering teams to deeply understand product requirements and manufacturing options for component sourcing, while evaluating supplier capabilities to support current needs and future product roadmaps.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Technical field is required for this position.
• Experience: Ten or more years of experience in global strategic sourcing management, demonstrating strong global procurement expertise across supplier selection, risk/compliance management, negotiation, roadmap alignment, and financial analysis. This includes proven achievement in sourcing solutions and international negotiation skills.
• Skills: Critical Thinking, advanced Problem-Solving Skills, and Strong Communication Skills are essential. This role also requires excellent relationship management and collaboration skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders, the proven ability to drive positive change, and the capacity to build procurement credibility within new groups. Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Office, Advanced Excel, and MS Project is also necessary.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include certifications such as ISM C.P.M., CPSM, APICS CSCP/CPIM, or equivalent, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
