The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role located north of Boston, requiring 2-3 days a week in the office. This is a key opportunity to join a rapidly growing company, contributing directly to leadership as the finance group scales. The Accountant will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring strict internal controls over both cash and assets, and actively assisting with critical month-end closing procedures. This position specifically centers on real-time cash management, meticulous liquidity tracking, and thorough asset verification to uphold the company’s financial integrity and support its ongoing expansion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconcile Accounts: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple operating and sweep accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
• Manage Cash Flow: Monitor daily cash positions, track inflows and outflows, and manage cash application for optimal liquidity and control.
• Process Transactions: Prepare, review, and post journal entries for routine business transactions, prepayments, and accruals.
• Support Month-End: Assist in the execution of the monthly closing calendar, ensuring all financial data is accurately consolidated and deadlines are met.
• Verify Balances: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across various accounts (including bank, credit card, A/R, A/P, intercompany) to identify and resolve discrepancies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience: 1–3 years of general accounting experience, with public accounting experience or corporate internships considered a valuable plus.
• Skills: Daily and monthly bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring and application, general ledger journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring GAAP compliance, strict adherence to internal control procedures, and supporting documentation for external audits.
• Bonus: Intention to pursue or currently pursuing professional certification such as a CPA is highly desirable.
