The Tone:

The firm is a boutique consulting company specializing in advanced economic, financial, and econometric analysis for law firms, companies, and government agencies. This position is crucial for maintaining smooth financial operations, ensuring accurate monthly reporting, and supporting reconciliation processes within the accounting department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administer accounts payable functions, including reviewing employee expense reimbursements and vendor invoices, and preparing weekly payment files.
• Support the resolution of discrepancies with vendors, assist with AP inquiries, and contribute to payments reconciliation processes.
• Execute general ledger accounting duties, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for the monthly financial close process.
• Maintain fixed assets module records and depreciation schedules, and compile supporting schedules for annual audits and ad hoc analysis requests.
• Assist with accounting system upgrade testing and other ad-hoc assignments as needed to ensure efficient financial operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, along with an understanding of general accounting principles.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to handle confidential information with integrity, effective communication and interpersonal skills, strong mathematical abilities and an analytical mindset, and experience working with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Bonus: Internships or accounts payable/general ledger experience.
