The Tone:
This is an early career Accounting Specialist position at DO & CO AG, located in Romulus, MI. DO & CO AG is a global gourmet entertainment company with three business segments: Airline Catering, International Event Catering, and Restaurants, Lounges & Hotels, operating across 33 locations, 12 countries, and 3 continents. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the daily accounting operations of the Romulus team, ensuring the smooth flow of business transactions and financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Records daily business transactions and keys worksheets onto the general ledger system.
• Invoice Processing: Processes invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records.
• Data Verification: Enters, reviews, and verifies all entries within the billing systems on a daily basis.
• Financial Reporting Support: Maintains filing systems and generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Accounting Adjustments: Posts monthly depreciation and enters journal entries into the general ledger system.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or currently working towards completion of the degree for this early career accounting role.
• Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of practical experience in an accounting position.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting, and the ability to post and reclass journal entries, including an understanding of fixed asset depreciation.
• Bonus: Experience gained within the hospitality, catering, or food service industry is preferred.
