This is a hybrid role at a local/regional CPA firm, located in the Greater Tampa, FL area. The company has been in business for nearly 50 years and employs around 50 people. This position is crucial for managing the financial health of clients, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with current accounting standards within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

• Pay: $65,000–$90,000 yearly

What You’ll Actually Do
• Bookkeeping: Perform daily bookkeeping duties, including recording transactions, maintaining financial records, and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Software Utilization: Utilize accounting software such as Sage and Quickbooks to manage financial data and processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles.
• Tax and Payroll: Prepare and process payroll accurately and submit sales tax returns in a timely manner.
• Financial Reporting: Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of all accounts and prepare comprehensive financial reports for clients, offering insights and recommendations.
• Client Relations: Liaise with clients to address financial inquiries, issues, or discrepancies, and assist in developing accounting policies and procedures.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a focus on client bookkeeping and accounting standards.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a client-facing capacity.
• Skills: Proficiency in Sage and Quickbooks, solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles, and strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Bonus: Professional certification such as CPA.
