Junior Accountant | YMCA of the Roses

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at YMCA of the Roses, located in York, PA. What You’ll Actually Do
Accounts Payable Operations: Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including processing monthly invoices, matching purchase orders, reviewing financial agreements for compliance, and preparing disbursement reports for timely payments and electronic transfers.
Financial Reporting & Reconciliation: Generate and reconcile Accounts Payable reports, reconcile AP detail and control accounts to the balance sheet, and perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliation of assigned accounts.
Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting standards, prepare and file IRS Form 1099s, and compile comprehensive documentation and supporting schedules for annual audits.
Cash Management & Forecasting: Monitor cash availability for payment runs, assist in preparing monthly cash flow forecasts, and track and submit unclaimed property to the Commonwealth.
Financial Record Maintenance: Support the YMCA’s record retention policies, maintain required financial records, and assist with credit card reconciliations, expense allocations, and the review of YMCA financial lease agreements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience in an accounting role. Career level: Entry-Level.
• Experience: At least 1 year of accounting experience with an Associate’s degree, or a minimum of 2 years in an accounting role without a degree. Experience with computerized accounting systems is required.
• Skills: Proficiency in computerized accounting systems, strong working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing, efficient problem-solving skills, highly organized, and the ability to work with confidential matters.
