The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Gulfstream Aerospace, located in Savannah, GA. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, Gulfstream Aerospace is dedicated to designing, developing, manufacturing, marketing, servicing, and supporting the world’s most technologically advanced business jet aircraft. In this Staff Accountant position, you will play a critical role in applying financial reporting principles, focusing on basic analysis of financial reporting data and maintaining knowledge of the systems involved in the financial reporting process. Your contributions will directly support the financial health and reporting integrity of the company’s capital projects.

• Mission: This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting data related to capital projects, through analysis, general ledger maintenance, and timely preparation of financial statements.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Excel, MS applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Analyze and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger, then prepare managerial and financial reports.
• Data Compilation: Prepare and compile financial data in a timely manner to meet established schedules and deadlines.
• Closing Support: Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules necessary for closing, and reconcile assigned accounts with appropriate documentation.
• Process Improvement: Identify problems and potential improvements within existing financial systems and processes.
• Management Reporting: Prepare essential schedules, reports, and presentations for management review.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in Excel, knowledge of ASC 842 Lease, and experience with SAP. Strong technology expertise in other applications is also desired.
• Bonus: A Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or CPA certification, which may offset one year of the required experience.
