This is an internship at Forvis Mazars US, located in South Florida. This role is designed to provide invaluable hands-on experience, helping interns explore whether a career in audit or tax within public accounting aligns with their aspirations. You will gain exposure to diverse industries and develop essential technical and professional skills by working directly on client engagements alongside senior staff and management personnel.
The TL;DR

• Mission: Assist senior staff and management by performing audit testing and analysis, helping to prepare client reports, and participating in client meetings to gain foundational experience in public accounting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Testing: Perform audit testing on various financial statement accounts, such as cash, accounts payable, and fixed assets, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Account Reconciliation: Collaborate with client personnel to effectively reconcile account differences and thoroughly analyze financial data, contributing to accurate financial reporting.
• Report Drafting: Assist in drafting essential documents, including management letter comments and the final audit report, under the guidance of experienced professionals.
• Client Engagement: Participate actively in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers, gaining direct exposure to client relationships and strategic discussions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level candidate pursuing CPA Exam eligibility, with satisfactory academic performance in major-related coursework and a minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.0.
• Experience: Entry-level
• Skills: Solid technical accounting knowledge, effective time management, strong oral and written communication skills, close attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and against deadlines.
• Bonus: Strong computer skills preferred, including Microsoft Office suite.
