Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 | RSM US LLP

The Tone:
This is an internship at RSM US LLP, located at various client locations. RSM US LLP is a leading provider of professional services to the middle market globally. This role contributes to that purpose by providing support in understanding client needs, assessing risks, and performing audit procedures.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, various client locations
• Pay: $34–$40 hourly
• Mission: This intern will perform audit procedures to support clients’ financial reporting accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Understand client business environments, including their needs, industry, accounting systems, and relevant GAAP/GAAS issues.
• Develop proficiency in the RSM audit approach and utilize firm-specific tools effectively.
• Assess financial risks and evaluate the integrity of client internal control structures.
• Execute substantive tests and internal control tests to identify and resolve accounting and reporting discrepancies.
• Draft financial statements, adhering to prescribed formats and regulatory guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should be working towards a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university with an Accounting Major, having completed 90 credit hours.
• Experience: Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to client locations.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively on a team.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA. Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
