The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship program at New York Life, located in New York, NY (Hybrid). What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate in training classes enhancing skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and an introduction to insurance and financial services industry concepts.
• Attend weekly seminars presented by experienced professionals from Corporate Finance, Insurance, and Investments groups to understand the industry and financial functions.
• Develop communication skills through public speaking workshops and a formal final presentation about your internship experience and projects.
• Build a professional network through mentor pairing, exposure to the Senior Finance Leadership Team, coffee chats with associates, and various social and team-building events.
• Complete challenging work experience, projects, and special assignments within finance functions like planning and analytics, budget and expense management, or controllership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Rising juniors (or in a Graduate program) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Analytics.
• Experience: Authorized to work in the U.S. (no employment-based immigration sponsorship, OPT, or CPT), with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a team-player attitude, with experience with generative AI.
