• Mission: Learn to manage driver operations, freight movement, and customer service to ensure safe, timely, and compliant transportation services.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Driver Relationship Management: Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and carriers to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Operational Oversight and Support: Fill in for absent personnel, assist with special projects, and learn to train and orient drivers and employees on various systems.
• Fleet Optimization and Reporting: Become proficient in maximizing fleet efficiency and profitability, making recommendations for improvement, and presenting customer-specific reports.
• Administrative and Financial Management: Learn to perform administrative duties such as payroll, budget management, driver counseling, accident reviews, and analyzing P&L statements.
• Compliance and Safety Enforcement: Learn to maintain the Company’s safety culture, including daily messages, briefings, and training, and enforce policies to ensure DOT compliance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level management professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience: A High School Diploma/GED combined with at least 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or equivalent military experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Skills: Ability to analyze situations and make productive decisions; strong communication skills to interact with drivers, customers, and internal personnel; a commitment to meeting team/driver needs and providing excellent service; and the capacity to anticipate, recognize, and resolve operational problems.
• Bonus: Prior experience managing a team; demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments; and the capacity to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
