Project Accountant | AMS Industries, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at AMS Industries, Inc., located in Woodridge, IL. With more than 1,000 employees, AMS has grown into a multi-discipline, multi-market MEP contractor. This role is crucial for supporting the accounting function and financial reporting process, working closely with team members across the organization.

• Mission: This person ensures accurate financial support and reporting for projects from their opening to completion.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Spectrum or proprietary financial software (a plus)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Billing: Generate customer invoices, lien waivers, and other related billing paperwork as requested by project managers and client service representatives.
• Compliance: Issue Certificates of Insurance when requested by relevant parties.
• Project Support: Open new jobs in the accounting system and provide comprehensive financial assistance until each project’s completion.
• Reporting: Attend Project Manager meetings to assist with financial reporting and present relevant data.
• Data Entry: Perform coding and data entry for subcontract invoices accurately.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma, GED, Associates degree, or equivalent experience. Entry-level accounting/bookkeeping experience is preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience within the construction industry.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel and Word, a positive disposition with an ability to work collaboratively in teams, self-motivation, and an eagerness to learn and grow in the position.
• Bonus: Experience with Spectrum or proprietary financial software.
