Staff Accountant | Solifi

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Solifi, primarily remote with occasional travel to their corporate office in Minneapolis, MN. Solifi delivers a solid financial technology foundation for equipment, working capital, wholesale, and automotive finance firms, with a mission to reshape finance technology by bringing together proven solutions into a singular powerful platform. This Staff Accountant position is a critical role on the Finance team, directly contributing to core financial operations, including billing, accounts payable, and payroll, ensuring the precision and reliability essential for guiding customer success and supporting the company’s growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payroll Operations: Assist with the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment for employees by processing payroll and verifying data.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations related to payroll, including tax withholding, benefits, and various payroll deductions.
• Accounts Payable Management: Oversee the end-to-end operations of accounts payable, encompassing invoice processing, managing payment runs, and handling expense report management.
• Billing Accuracy: Execute the renewal billing process, ensuring accurate price increases, correct subscription basis, and timely invoice delivery for all subscription entitlements via digital distribution methods.
• Contract Review: Review executed order forms, contracts, and statements of work to ensure accuracy of billing terms and financial compliance.
• Financial Closing Support: Assist comprehensively with month-end and year-end closing processes, contributing to timely and accurate financial reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required, coupled with a basic understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and fundamental financial principles.
• Experience: A preferred experience level of 2 years, demonstrating an ability to step in and quickly get up to speed in a financial operations role.
• Skills: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask, prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and reliably work independently; and the capacity to read, analyze, and interpret executed contracts, order forms, and statements of work.
• Bonus: Knowledge of cloud-based ERP and billing systems, such as SalesForce and Oracle NetSuite, and experience with reporting and accounting for foreign operations, ideally within the software industry.
