Accounting Specialist | General Matter
The Tone:
This is an early-career role at General Matter, located in the US. The company designs, builds, and operates the world’s lowest-cost uranium enrichment services, aiming to restore America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel for AI, advanced manufacturing, and critical industries. This Accounting Specialist position is foundational, taking full operational responsibility for AP/AR and building scalable financial processes. The role offers significant scope and visibility for an early-career professional, with direct involvement in system implementations and process optimization as the company scales production.

• Mission: Manage all invoice processing, support vendor and customer relationships, and sustain cash flow operations by building scalable financial processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Vendor Management: Process vendor invoices, manage payment cycles, and resolve discrepancies through 3-way matching verification.
• Customer Billing: Generate and track customer invoices, managing collections and resolving inquiries to support cash flow.
• Financial Close: Perform month-end close tasks, including AP accruals, corporate card reconciliation in Ramp, and AR revenue recognition support.
• Process Optimization: Train non-finance teams on procurement processes and spend management tools, troubleshooting workflow issues across departments.
• System Management: Maintain accurate financial records across systems like Ramp and QuickBooks, supporting future ERP integrations and implementations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with general knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, excellent communication across technical and non-technical teams, a proactive mindset focused on process improvement, adaptability to new systems and evolving processes, and proficiency in Excel and MS Suite for reporting and analysis.
• Bonus: Experience with Ramp, QuickBooks, or ERP systems (including from internships or coursework), or prior internship or work experience in accounting, finance, or operations roles.
