• Mission: To ensure the accuracy and compliance of Brilliant’s financial records by diligently supporting the monthly close, maintaining the general ledger, preparing essential journal entries, and assisting with comprehensive financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Actively assist the accounting team in the execution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial data is accurately compiled for reporting. This involves collaborating closely with team members to gather necessary information and reconcile accounts.
• Record: Meticulously prepare and accurately post various journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and adherence to established accounting procedures. This foundational responsibility helps maintain the precise balance of Brilliant’s financial accounts.
• Maintain: Take an active role in maintaining the general ledger, routinely reviewing for accuracy and completeness, and addressing any discrepancies to uphold the integrity of all financial records. This ongoing maintenance is critical for reliable financial statements.
• Report: Provide crucial assistance with financial reporting activities, contributing to the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and other reports as required. This support ensures that stakeholders receive clear and compliant financial information.
• Comply: Rigorously ensure all accounting practices and entries comply with Brilliant’s internal accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and regulatory adherence.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, providing a solid academic foundation in core accounting principles, financial theory, and analytical techniques essential for an entry to early-career accounting professional.
• Experience: Demonstrate practical experience with month-end close procedures, including familiarity with the steps, documentation, and reconciliation tasks involved in finalizing accounting periods. This experience is vital for contributing effectively to Brilliant’s financial cycles.
• Skills: Exhibit a strong and demonstrable understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental general accounting principles. This includes the ability to apply these principles to real-world accounting scenarios, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across all responsibilities.
