Director – Product Operations | Mimecast

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mimecast, located remotely in Canada. Mimecast protects the work people build by disrupting cybercriminal activity before it happens, moving fast and demanding high standards. This role is critical for evolving the operating backbone of Mimecast’s Product and R&D organization, ensuring product teams can plan with clarity and execute with discipline. You will define operational excellence and make it a reality within a community built on respect.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $140000–$210000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Senior Director Product Strategy & Operations, leading a cross-functional team.
• Mission: Own and evolve the operating backbone of Mimecast’s Product and R&D organization.
• Tech Stack: Product planning and roadmapping tools, data standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy: Own the Product Operations strategy, operating model, and planning frameworks to optimize Product and R&D performance.
• Planning: Design and lead the comprehensive planning cycle, ensuring strategic and execution alignment across Product, R&D, and GTM teams.
• Tooling: Own the Product toolchain strategy, establishing governance and driving adoption of planning, intake, and roadmapping tools.
• Innovation: Champion and embed AI-powered workflows to enhance planning, documentation, and delivery processes within the product organization.
• Partnership: Serve as a senior operational partner across Product, Engineering, Design, GTM, and Finance, facilitating alignment and issue resolution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level experience in Product Operations, Technical Program Management, or a related function within a B2B SaaS or software company.
• Experience: Demonstrated track record of designing, building, and scaling product operating models, alongside experience leading and developing teams.
• Skills: Expertise in product planning frameworks and modern tooling.
• Skills: Proven ability in cross-functional influence and strategic systems thinking.
• Skills: Strong change management capability for driving lasting adoption.
• Skills: Genuine fluency with AI tools and AI-enabled workflows.
• Bonus: Experience in cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS, exposure to organizational design or GTM coordination, and relevant credentials like CSPO, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or an MBA.
