Staff Accountant | The Jonus Group

The Tone:
This is a hybrid Staff Accountant role at The Jonus Group, located in Winter Park / Orlando, FL. The Jonus Group is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support day-to-day accounting operations. This position is vital for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and for contributing to ongoing Workday implementation initiatives across departments and office locations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Process and manage accounts payable transactions in compliance with company policies.
• Cash Management: Record daily cash entries and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Financial Closing: Support month-end close procedures and prepare/post journal entries.
• Asset Maintenance: Maintain asset management records and process related accounting entries.
• System Implementation: Participate in Workday implementation projects, including testing and process improvements, and perform day-to-day accounting functions within Workday.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; this is an early career position.
• Experience: 1 – 2 years of relevant insurance accounting experience, including accounts payable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Bonus: Experience with Workday or a similar ERP system, exposure to Applied Epic, experience with system implementations or process improvements, and experience supporting financial statement consolidation.
