This role is crucial for managing the supply of materials, ensuring that demand is met, and optimizing overall material costs within Jabil’s extensive supply chain operations. • Team: Works within Supply Chain Management, collaborating with Purchasing Manager, Materials Planners, and Business Unit Managers (BUM).
• Mission: To manage material requirements planning to ensure supply meets demand and optimize overall material costs.
• Tech Stack: Windows based operating system, Jabil’s software packages

What You’ll Actually Do
• MRP Management: Manage the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, ensuring that material supply precisely matches demand and supporting the optimization of overall material costs.
• Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive supply base and Supply Chain strategies, customized for specific customers or Business Unit strategic materials, while collaborating with the Purchasing Manager and SCM to meet customer needs and influence their strategies to align with Jabil’s.
• Supplier Management: Communicate Jabil’s expectations to suppliers, conduct audits, visits, certifications, and performance reviews to continuously develop and improve the supply base, incorporating feedback from Materials Planners on delivery, quality, and service.
• Sourcing & Negotiation: Execute sourcing decisions for new and existing materials based on a holistic view of cost and benefit, including price, duty, freight, and performance, while frequently re-quoting and negotiating to achieve cost reduction opportunities and securing favorable terms and conditions that protect Jabil’s interests.
• Cost Optimization: Analyze and project component purchase prices for accurate inventory valuation within the Standard Costing process, providing input for competitive customer quoted costs that maximize Materials Price Variance (MPV), and securing customer authorization for additional expenses when necessary.
• SCM Initiatives & Compliance: Support and execute Jabil’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) initiatives and strategies, ensuring adherence to pricing and terms & conditions agreements, including World Wide Purchasing Agreements, and complying with all safety, health, and company security policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with raw materials working experience.
• Experience: Working experience with raw materials.
• Skills:
• Analytical Calculation: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Problem Solving: Capability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• PC Proficiency: Advanced PC skills, including operating a Windows-based system and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
• Communication: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
