Corporate Vice President – Senior Director – Head of Integrated Solutions Engineering | New York Life Insurance Company

• Team: Business Unit Technology, Data, AI and Ventures (TDAV) organization, leading a large, multidisciplinary engineering organization.
• Mission: Lead the engineering strategy, delivery, and evolution of shared technology platforms supporting New York Life’s Insurance, Annuities, and Wealth businesses to ensure they are resilient, scalable, secure, and innovative.
• Tech Stack: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Kafka, Event Hubs, REST APIs, GraphQL, modern data platforms

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategize: Set the engineering and platform strategy for Integrated Solutions, defining multi-year technology roadmaps, engineering standards, reference architectures, and modernization priorities across shared capabilities.
• Lead: Lead and develop a high-performing engineering organization, establishing clear accountability, strengthening technical leadership, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, quality, and continuous learning.
• Modernize: Modernize and evolve enterprise platforms through cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, event-driven integration, containerization, automation, and AI-assisted engineering practices, while maintaining stability of mission-critical capabilities.
• Guide: Drive architectural and engineering decisions across complex initiatives, partnering with architecture and business leaders to resolve dependencies, manage risk, and ensure solutions support broader business objectives.
• Optimize: Own engineering health and operational excellence across Integrated Solutions platforms by establishing measurable outcomes for reliability, resiliency, security, scalability, observability, deployment frequency, and technical debt reduction.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems analysis, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience, with core domain knowledge in designing and building enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Experience: 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including demonstrated progression through software engineering, technical leadership, architecture, and engineering leadership roles. 10+ years of experience leading large engineering organizations responsible for building and operating mission-critical enterprise platforms.
• Skills: Deep technical expertise in modern application and platform architecture (cloud-native, microservices, APIs, event-driven, distributed systems, enterprise integration, container platforms, modern data integration). Demonstrated experience modernizing complex legacy technology environments while maintaining operational stability. Experience establishing and advancing modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, observability, Site Reliability Engineering, and AI-assisted software development.
• Bonus: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, API gateways, event-streaming technologies such as Kafka or Event Hubs, REST APIs, GraphQL, and modern data platforms. Experience applying Domain-Driven Design, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns. Experience applying AI/ML, Generative AI, or intelligent automation. Experience leading technology platforms or engineering organizations supporting insurance, annuities, wealth management, financial services, or similarly complex business domains.
