China Export Compliance Program Manager | Apple

• Mission: Ensure compliance with worldwide laws governing technology and product exports by developing creative solutions to complex compliance challenges.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and manage adherence to PRC export regulations and countermeasure regimes, including the PRC Export Control Law (ECL), Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law (AFSL), and Provisions on the Unreliable Entity List, alongside U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
• License Management: Manage and support export, re-export, and deemed export controls, as well as facilitate license applications for China-based transactions or activities involving Chinese personnel.
• Regulatory Tracking: Track changes to restricted/denied party lists and controlled-items lists for both PRC and US regulations, assessing their impact on Apple’s China operations and supply chain.
• Expert Advising: Advise engineering, supply chain, and R&D teams on complex controlled technology handling issues pertaining to advanced and emerging technologies.
• Risk Mitigation & Support: Support restricted/denied party screening and sanctions/countermeasure risk assessments for China-based transactions and partners, and provide technical and strategic support to business and operations teams to address export compliance issues for the China supply chain.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in law, engineering, international business, international trade, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of export compliance experience, including managing compliance programs for China export control and countermeasure regimes, and experience with restricted/denied party screening and reviews.
• Skills: Excellent project management and documentation skills, strong analytical capability with attention to detail, clear organization and excellent written and verbal communications, coupled with the ability to lead and provide direction in ambiguous situations.
• Bonus: Knowledge in material engineering and computer science, experience working in or quickly learning new areas of regulation and technology, familiarity with international regulations, and Mac, MacOS, and iOS proficiency.
