Senior Director, US Brand Strategy & Launch – Mood Disorders | Neurocrine Biosciences

This role is central to a high-profile, differentiated CNS product launch, leading the end-to-end U.S. commercialization strategy for an upcoming launch in Mood Disorders. The Senior Director will shape how the brand is positioned clinically and commercially, ensuring resonance with key stakeholders.

• Mission: Owns the end-to-end U.S. commercialization strategy for Neurocrine’s upcoming launch in Mood Disorders, with accountability for Healthcare Professional (HCP), some patient marketing strategy, launch execution, and long-term brand performance.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Brand Strategy: Owns the U.S. brand strategy for launch by defining positioning, segmentation, messaging, and metrics to drive differentiated commercial performance.
• Launch Execution: Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive, cross-functional brand planning process to ensure a coordinated and successful launch.
• Market Understanding: Applies deep understanding of the neuropsychiatric treatment landscape to shape effective HCP and patient engagement strategies.
• Program Design: Drives the design and execution of pre-launch and launch programs, including personal, non-personal, and peer-to-peer education, tailored to various audiences.
• Strategic Influence: Serves as the commercial lead for the brand, influencing senior leadership decisions on strategy, investment, and prioritization while aligning stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: BS/BA degree in a scientific or business discipline with 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s/MBA with 13+ years, or a PhD with 10+ years, indicating strong commercial leadership experience.
• Experience: 7+ years of strong marketing and/or sales experience in a pharmaceutical market, with a proven track record of leading U.S. brand strategy and launch execution, ideally in neuroscience, psychiatry, or specialty therapeutics, and experience managing outside agencies.
• Skills: Strong leadership capability, including experience building and developing high-performing teams, excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to travel domestically (25–50%).
• Bonus: Deep understanding of HCP and patient dynamics in mental health, including treatment complexity, access challenges, and patient engagement considerations.
