The Tone:
This is a full-time contract role at the Inter-American Development Bank, rendered 100% remotely from a country where the IDB Group has offices. This position is crucial for strengthening the Transport Division’s capabilities in digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, intelligent transport systems, and AI applications, expanding its support to client countries in these critical areas.

• Team: Transport Division (TSP) of the Infrastructure and Energy Department (INE)
• Mission: Promote the integration of digital transformation and AI into the division’s operational, analytical, and knowledge activities, strengthen staff capabilities, and support the administration of related initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Digital tools, digital infrastructure, intelligent transport systems, digital twins, mobility data platforms, monitoring frameworks, dashboards, reporting tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy & Implementation: Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Transport Division’s comprehensive AI and digital transformation strategy across all relevant initiatives.
• Capacity Building: Design and deliver targeted training sessions, workshops, and practical guidance to enhance AI and digital literacy among Transport Division staff and promote the adoption of new digital tools.
• Knowledge Leadership: Identify, assess, and disseminate emerging technologies, best practices, tools, and real-world use cases related to AI, intelligent transport systems, digital twins, and mobility data platforms.
• Operational Integration: Identify and support concrete opportunities to integrate AI and digital transformation components into sovereign-guaranteed loans, technical cooperation operations, and advisory activities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Support high-level policy dialogue, foster strategic partnerships, and facilitate knowledge exchange with government counterparts, development partners, academia, and private sector stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in public policy, transport engineering, information systems, business administration, or another field relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
• Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in digital transformation, innovation, data analytics, AI applications, transport technology, intelligent transport systems, or digital government.
• Skills: Digital transformation strategy & implementation, AI applications in transport, intelligent transport systems (ITS) and digital infrastructure, data analytics and data-driven decision-making, bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Bonus: Experience supporting public sector digital transformation initiatives, working with multilateral development banks, international organizations, consulting firms, technology companies, or government agencies, and designing or supporting digital transformation programs.
