Revenue Accountant | State of Oklahoma

As part of a large governmental agency, this position supports the financial operations by ensuring accurate revenue accounting. The Revenue Accountant is crucial for maintaining precise financial records, analyzing data, and preparing essential reports that underpin the state’s financial integrity and decision-making.

• Mission: To maintain, analyze, interpret, and manage financial accounting data to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Review: Review and analyze financial data, including revenue projections and expenditure reports, to determine funding requirements.
• Report Preparation: Prepare financial statements, reports of operations, expenditure reports, and statistical data concerning financial requirements.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain various ledgers, journals, registers, and other fiscal records, allocating revenues and classifying expenditures as required.
• Voucher Processing: Process expense vouchers, invoices, and other fiscal documents for payment, and reconcile financial reports and fiscal data.
• Payroll Management: Determine payroll requirements, maintain payroll data, and process monthly payrolls.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a closely related field. Career level: Entry-Level.
• Experience: An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of bookkeeping for each year of the required degree, is acceptable.
• Skills: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and theories; ability to prepare basic financial statements and reports; ability to review and analyze financial information; ability to maintain routine accounting data in appropriate ledgers and journals; knowledge of computer technology related to accounting systems.
