What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Tasks: Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledgers, and reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts daily.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, supporting documentation, and schedules for both internal use and for clients.
• Compliance & Support: Support tax preparation processes and assist with audits or reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Client Communication: Communicate professionally with clients and team members, responding to information requests to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Process Improvement: Help improve accounting processes, maintain organized records, and support other firm projects as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience); strong knowledge of accounting principles, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience: Ability to learn new financial systems quickly; prior public accounting, tax preparation, or audit experience is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; detail-oriented approach with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: CPA eligibility or certification is a plus; willingness to learn and develop professionally is essential.
