Program Manager (USMC – WRI ASTRO) | Motorola Solutions

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Motorola Solutions, located remotely within the U.S. We build and connect technologies that help protect people, property, and places. This role is critical for overseeing and sustaining the West Region Infrastructure LMR ASTRO System for the USMC, directly contributing to safer operations for military personnel and ultimately, safer nations.

• Tech Stack: Motorola ecosystem, ASTRO System, LMR, E911, MBR radios, Remedy, Google Suites, Microsoft applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead and Manage: Oversee and direct a diverse team of program personnel, including Engineers, System Managers, Cybersecurity Leads, and Project Managers, ensuring high performance and clear communication.
• System Administration: Administer the comprehensive West Region Infrastructure LMR ASTRO System, including the USMC Enterprise LMR, E911, and MBR radio systems globally.
• Financial Oversight: Manage the program budget and costs, including formulation, development, and execution, to achieve profitability goals across a large organization and geographic area.
• Strategic Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for the USMC PMO and other DoD branches, coordinating daily with Motorola Sales, partners, and internal leadership on strategic direction and opportunities.
• Compliance and Lifecycle: Ensure adherence to DoD change management processes, Cybersecurity compliance (IAVA, patch management), vulnerability scanning, and lead system lifecycle planning for hardware, software, and operational data.
• Project and Upgrade Management: Direct the successful management of all Motorola projects worldwide connecting to USMC systems, including expansions, upgrades, and transitioning them to sustainment support.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Professional experience in executive management, overseeing large enterprise IT systems, and working with substantial government agencies or organizations.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 years in project management or military leadership, including at least 5 years managing a variety of complex global projects, with demonstrable success in team building and delegation.
• Skills: Demonstrated executive leadership, strong budget formulation and administration skills, proven contract writing and interpretation, superior interpersonal and written communication for executive-level reports and briefings, and robust supply chain and logistical planning expertise.
• Requirements: U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
• Bonus: PMP certification, in-depth knowledge of the Motorola ecosystem, and a preference for applicants located in the Western Region.
