Inventory Cost Accountant | Stussy, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Stussy, Inc., located in Los Angeles, CA. Stussy is a global apparel company, and this role is critical to the accurate and consistent financial reporting of our worldwide apparel operations. The Inventory Cost Accountant will play a key part in logistical planning, operational processes, and the comprehensive control of all inventory-related activities, working closely with the accounting manager and various internal and external stakeholders.

• Mission: Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting for global apparel operations, including planning, scheduling, and controlling inventory activities.
• Tech Stack: Full Circle, NetSuite, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of product receipts, shipments, and movement, while monitoring system inventory levels across all warehouses to ensure alignment with ERP systems.
Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of inventory accounts across multiple entities and warehouses, actively investigating and resolving discrepancies between physical inventory, ERP, and the general ledger.
Multi-Entity Compliance: Maintain precise records for intercompany inventory transactions and transfers, ensuring strict compliance with internal controls and established accounting standards.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare inventory-related journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, assist in generating reports for stakeholders, and analyze trends in inventory valuation, obsolescence, and shrinkage.
Process Enhancement: Collaborate with IT and finance teams to enhance ERP inventory modules and reporting tools, proactively identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline reconciliation workflows.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong focus on inventory and multi-entity cost accounting.
• Experience: 3+ years of cost accounting experience; proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Full Circle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
• Skills: Strong analytical mindset, keen attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work independently, and strong prioritization skills.
• Bonus: Experience in the apparel or retail industry is highly desirable.
