What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Close Management: Perform essential accounting and reporting duties with a primary focus on executing the accounting close process, which includes recording accurate journal entries and conducting thorough financial analysis.
• Policy Application & Research: Complete assigned responsibilities as a core part of the accounting close process, applying established accounting policies and procedures while also performing necessary research and in-depth analysis.
• Financial Reconciliation & Investigation: Execute comprehensive analysis and reconciliation tasks utilizing system queries, engaging in diligent research, investigating all reconciling items, and ensuring their prompt and accurate resolution.
• Performance Reporting: Analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate any identified action items or significant variances discovered during the month-end close and broader analytical processes to the supervisory team as appropriate.
• Special Project Assistance: Provide support for various accounting and reporting activities, as well as contribute to special projects as they are assigned, assisting in broader departmental initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related area is required. Alternatively, an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related area combined with two years of professional accounting experience is acceptable. A High School diploma or GED requires four years of professional accounting experience, including two years of specific intellectual instruction or on-the-job training in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Professional experience in accounting is required, ranging from two to four years depending on educational qualifications, with a minimum of two years demonstrating specific instructed training or on-the-job training in Accounting or Finance for those without a college degree.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, the ability to record accurate journal entries, proficiency in performing financial analysis, and expertise in account reconciliations are necessary for this role.
