Benefits Analyst | Lockton

The Tone:
This is an early career position at Lockton, located in the Northeast series (spanning Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York City, Hartford, Norwalk, Boston, and Portland ME). The TL;DR

• Mission: Provides essential day-to-day client service and renewal support to foster long-term client relationships and develop a career in employee benefits.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inquiries: Respond to client inquiries and meticulously document communications, existing issues, and their resolutions.
• Client Service: Deliver client service consistent with Lockton Northeast’s engagement strategies, supporting the client service team from strategy planning through renewal.
• Communications: Manage the open enrollment communications process, including providing presentation support.
• Development: Cultivate expertise in benefits tools such as benchmarking, 5500 preparations, marketings, and cost reports.
• Program Engagement: Actively participate in the Career Foundations Program by attending all training sessions and fostering relationships with mentors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position for a recent college graduate or an experienced professional; Bachelor’s degree in a business-related program or other related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience including human resources administration, risk management, or health policy.
• Experience: Recent college graduate or 1 to 2 years of relevant insurance experience; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Skills: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to efficiently organize work and manage time to meet deadlines; capability to multi-task, adapt to change, and work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Bonus: Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel as needed; exhibition of intellectual curiosity and initiative to solve problems independently; commitment to pursuing technical excellence through professional designations or industry workshops.
