Staff Accountant | Mission Pet Health
The Tone:
This is a Staff Accountant role at Mission Pet Health. As a rapidly scaling company moving towards 1,000 hospitals, Mission Pet Health is building a network of over 850 local veterinary practices supported by more than 20,000 team members. This role is pivotal in scaling the accounting function for future success, offering the opportunity to gain extensive accounting experience and contribute to continuous improvement with a solution-oriented mindset, preparing the organization for a future IPO.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Fixed Assets: Maintain accurate, up-to-date calculations and comprehensive records of fixed assets and their related accounts, ensuring full compliance with established accounting standards and company policies.
• Journal Entries: Prepare accurate and timely journal entries for various transactions, including but not limited to depreciation expense, asset transfers, and asset dispositions.
• Reconciliation: Perform thorough reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts as a key part of the comprehensive month-end close process.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze detailed financial reports specifically related to capital expenditure, and support the capital spending and forecasting processes by providing timely and accurate financial data.
• Collaboration & Audit: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather, review, and accurately classify construction-in-progress and other project-related costs, while also assisting in the preparation of audit schedules and providing requested documentation to auditors.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Possess at least one year of professional experience in accounting, audit, or another relevant professional capacity.
• Skills: Demonstrate advanced Excel proficiency for handling large datasets, the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management, excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven solution-oriented mindset for independent work.
• Bonus: Prior experience working with Accounting software is preferred.
