Master Data Specialist | Hitachi

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Hitachi, located remotely in North Carolina, United States. By maintaining precise customer records, this position directly supports reliable business operations, efficient order-to-cash processes, and the effective use of critical business systems. • Team: Supports the Sales function.
• Mission: Ensure customer master data is accurate, complete, and established in a timely manner to enable reliable business operations and effective system use.
• Tech Stack: MDG system, ERP tools, CRM tools, SAP.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Records: Process requests to create and update customer master data records, including Sold-To, Bill-To, and Ship-To accounts.
• Validate Data: Validate required data fields and ensure alignment with internal standards and naming conventions, maintaining accurate customer records in applicable systems.
• Verify Documentation: Review and verify customer documentation in accordance with company policies and compliance guidelines, submitting and tracking requests through the MDG system.
• Support Sales: Serve as a point of contact for Sales regarding customer master data requests, status updates, and account selection for order entry.
• Improve Data Quality: Identify data quality issues and support data cleansing, standardization, validation, and process improvement activities, assisting with process documentation and system changes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: Preferred experience in master data, customer setup, order management, sales operations, or order-to-cash support.
• Skills: Ability to learn and navigate MDG, ERP, and related systems (including SAP and CRM platforms); clear communication skills to work closely with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders; ability to manage multiple requests while maintaining data accuracy and completeness; ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Bonus: Experience working with MDG systems, ERP tools, CRM tools, or similar platforms.
