What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Processing: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Account Reconciliation: Assist with bank and various account reconciliations to ensure financial records are balanced and correct.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and timely general ledger entries, supporting the overall integrity of financial data.
• Financial Reporting Support: Help prepare basic financial reports and contribute to month-end and year-end close tasks.
• Compliance and Collaboration: Ensure documentation is organized and compliant with internal policies, respond to accounting-related inquiries, and collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies, including assisting with audits and process improvements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Foundational accounting knowledge, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. An understanding of basic GAAP principles is also required, with an Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience is considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting or ERP software, with the ability to quickly learn new financial systems.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, coupled with the ability to consistently follow standardized accounting procedures. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaborating in a remote environment. The role also requires good organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: An interest in developing professional accounting expertise and any prior experience in records, information management, or related industries.
