Project Accountant | PM2CM, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at PM2CM, Inc., located in the Los Angeles Area, CA. PM2CM specializes in managing large-scale construction and professional services programs. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth and compliant financial operations of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Bond Program, one of the nation’s largest community college construction initiatives. The Project Accountant will be key to managing the intricate invoice workflows that underpin this significant program.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support project and finance teams with robust cost tracking, invoice management, and expenditure control.
• Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert for invoice processing, ensuring strict compliance with all program procedures.
• Processing: Review and process vendor payables, ensuring documentation accuracy and obtaining timely approvals.
• Communication: Communicate proactively with contractors, suppliers, and consultants regarding payment status and resolve payment delays.
• Analysis: Analyze general contractor payment applications and assist in the resolution of any identified discrepancies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-level professional with an Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience, where two years of education can substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for direct invoice processing background, coupled with proficiency in business enterprise software such as SAP or Oracle.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a program environment.
• Bonus: Prior project accounting experience, particularly within capital programs or the construction sector, and familiarity with public sector or government accounting practices.
