Retail Operations Analyst Intern | ENGIE North America Inc.

The Tone:
This is a temporary internship with ENGIE North America Inc., located in Houston, TX, operating under a hybrid work policy. ENGIE North America is a company leading the Zero-Carbon Transition, focusing on developing energy that is renewable, efficient, and accessible. This role is crucial for supporting the financial operations of the Cash Application & Broker Commissions teams, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions and providing valuable hands-on experience in the field.

• Team: Commissions and Cash App teams, reporting to the Commissions and Cash App, Director
• Mission: To support financial operations by processing and reconciling payments, ensuring accuracy in transactions, and assisting with reporting for the Cash Application & Broker Commissions teams.
• Tech Stack: Standard office software packages

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payments: Accurately apply incoming payments to customer accounts and invoices.
• Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve discrepancies found in payments or customer accounts.
• Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling daily bank transactions and identifying any exceptions.
• Efficiency: Collaborate with the accounting team to improve the efficiency of cash application processes.
• Month-End: Support the month-end closing process by preparing relevant documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, with a minimum standing as a Sophomore Undergraduate Student.
• Experience: No specific professional experience required; academic standing as a Sophomore Undergraduate Student or higher is expected.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong quantitative reasoning and mathematical inclination, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, exhibit strong analytical ability and attention to detail, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities with accuracy, and proficiency with standard office software packages.
