The Tone:
This is an immediate temporary part-time internship at Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC, located in Commerce, GA. As a Vehicle Processing Center, Southeast Toyota’s Industrial Engineering department focuses on optimizing operational efficiency. This role is crucial for assisting the team in developing labor standards, enhancing production processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.

• Mission: Assist the Industrial Engineering team in developing labor standards, mapping processes, and implementing waste reduction strategies within a production environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Perform time-and-motion studies to establish labor standards for production activities.
• Analyze: Participate in process mapping and collect data within the production environment.
• Improve: Support continuous improvement through participation in Kaizen Events and Gemba Walks.
• Optimize: Collaborate with 5S teams to enhance workplace organization and reduce waste.
• Assess: Conduct ergonomic assessments and formulate recommendations for various work tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program; freshman, sophomore, and junior students are preferred, especially those in STEM fields or with an engineering focus.
• Experience: Completed coursework or practical experience related to time-and-motion studies.
• Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities; excellent interpersonal skills, including highly effective verbal and written communication; ability to manage multiple priorities and work under time constraints.
• Bonus: Desired proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic macro development; experience with Microsoft PowerPoint for developing and delivering presentations. Flexibility to work non-standard schedules based on business needs.
