Associate Operations Support Specialist II – Nightshift | Mainspring Energy
The Tone:
This is a full-time, remote role at Mainspring Energy, a company dedicated to manufacturing and delivering fuel-flexible, low-emissions local power solutions. Mainspring’s innovative Linear Generators rapidly add new capacity and provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable electric power, with hundreds of megawatts in advanced development and field operations for leading Fortune 500 companies, data centers, and utilities. As an Associate Operations Support Specialist II, you will be a highly reliable and detail-oriented individual critical to monitoring system alerts, responding promptly to issues, and executing defined troubleshooting actions based on established flowcharts during overnight and weekend shifts. Your work ensures the continuous operation of these essential power solutions, directly supporting Mainspring’s mission to transition the world to clean and affordable electricity with pragmatic optimism and proactive collaboration.

• Mission: Monitor system alerts, provide prompt issue response, and execute defined troubleshooting actions to ensure the reliable and continuous operation of Mainspring Energy’s electro-mechanical hardware systems during night and weekend shifts.
What You’ll Actually Do
• System Oversight: Learn and understand novel electro-mechanical hardware systems and operations, then diligently monitor system alerts and notifications during assigned overnight shifts.
• Issue Response: Promptly follow established troubleshooting protocols and execute problem-solving actions based on provided flowcharts when alerts are received.
• Operational Resolution: Perform restarts for hardware systems or escalate issues to senior engineering staff as needed, ensuring all issues are resolved within allotted time or escalated appropriately.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of all alerts and actions taken, providing a clear and comprehensive record of operational activity.
• Shift Flexibility: Provide essential weekend and flexible shift coverage, supporting team members during vacations or absences to maintain continuous operational support.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional, preferably holding a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with previous experience in operations, dispatch, or customer support roles.
• Experience: Proven familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software systems and technology, demonstrating the ability to follow detailed instructions and processes meticulously.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving skills focused on execution, excellent communication abilities, keen attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently while managing multiple tasks and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
• Bonus: Prior experience working overnight shifts or in similar roles is an advantage, and basic technical aptitude, including experience with dashboards or similar systems, is a plus.
