Wonderful Summer Internship, Safety | Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds

The Tone:
This is an in-person, full-time summer internship at Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds, located in Lost Hills, CA. Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds is the world’s largest vertically integrated pistachio and almond processor, based in California’s Central Valley. The company is committed to providing the highest-quality nuts globally, utilizing advanced processing technology for sorting, grading, processing, roasting, flavoring, and packaging billions of nuts annually. This internship is designed to offer hands-on experience and contribute to a key process improvement project within the safety department. The role is crucial for validating and refining procedures, ultimately enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in a large-scale manufacturing environment that values a secure working environment.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Shadow and provide support to all safety teams across Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds operations.
• Train: Participate actively in various safety training sessions to build foundational knowledge.
• Refine: Collaborate with team members to validate and enhance existing safety procedures.
• Improve: Lead work on a designated project aimed at improving overall efficiency and effectiveness within the department.
• Monitor: Track and report on key performance indicators directly related to the processes being improved.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must be a Wonderful Scholar currently enrolled in the College Success program and be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required. The role requires demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with proficiency in data collection and analysis methods.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaboration and reporting. The ability to adapt to a manufacturing environment characterized by varying temperatures and loud machinery is also necessary. A strong eagerness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives is highly valued.
• Bonus: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
