This internship is designed to offer practical, hands-on experience, allowing interns to contribute directly to real audit engagements. The TL;DR

• Team: Works closely alongside CPAs and audit managers, receiving mentorship and guidance.
• Mission: Contributes to ensuring strong, transparent financial systems for municipalities, special districts, and other government entities through direct audit support and foundational skill development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Support: Actively assist with various aspects of financial and compliance audits, gaining exposure to the full audit lifecycle for government entities.
• Documentation Preparation: Prepare and organize comprehensive audit documentation and working papers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to professional standards.
• Fieldwork Participation: Participate directly in team planning sessions to strategize audit approaches and engage in fieldwork activities, applying learned concepts in real-world scenarios.
• Governmental Accounting Learning: Learn and apply the fundamentals of governmental accounting, developing insight into the unique financial systems that support public sector organizations.
• Engagement Contribution: Contribute meaningfully to real audit engagements, building foundational audit skills and developing a practical understanding of how strong financial systems foster thriving communities.
