Operations Manager Trainee | WM
The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership development program at WM, located in Naples, FL for the initial 5-month training. WM, formerly Waste Management, provides essential environmental services, ensuring communities are clean and sustainable. This role is crucial as it prepares future front-line Operations Managers who will lead teams, enhance operational efficiency, ensure safety, and drive customer satisfaction, contributing directly to the company’s commitment to growth.

• Pay: $63000–$65000 yearly
• Mission: Prepare individuals to become front-line Operations Managers by developing leadership skills, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees to enhance daily performance.
• Coach: Actively practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations with frontline employees.
• Partner: Collaborate with various frontline managers, including Operations Improvement, Fleet, Sales, and District Managers, to learn daily business operations.
• Learn: Develop comprehensive knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety programs, operational business processes, performance management, dispatch & routing, and fleet maintenance.
• Train: Complete the assigned Operations Manager Trainee curriculum and all other necessary training programs.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or, in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) with two years of relevant work experience.
• Experience: Two years of relevant work experience is required for candidates without a bachelor’s degree, in addition to education requirements.
• Skills: Must possess a valid driver’s license upon hire, maintain a clean driving record throughout employment, be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the country, and willing to relocate within the market area upon program completion.
