Lead Analyst HR Technology – Workday | MFS Investment Management

• Mission: This person is responsible for leading the optimization and continuous enhancement of HR systems, primarily Workday, to align with evolving business objectives and ensure data integrity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead System Optimization: Lead the optimization and continuous enhancement of HR systems, with primary responsibility for Workday, by partnering with HR and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable system design, configuration, and process improvements.
• Drive Project Execution: Drive end-to-end analysis, planning, and project execution, supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of new Workday modules and functionality while ensuring data integrity, operational excellence, and an effective user experience.
• Manage Workday Configuration: Own and maintain Workday configuration, including business processes, eligibility rules, condition rules, calculated fields, and tenant configuration, and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate workflows to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Provide Consultative Guidance: Serve as a lead HR technologist with in-depth knowledge of Workday functional areas, providing consultative guidance on best practices, end-to-end processes, and tenant strategy, while staying current on Workday roadmap, feature releases, and HR technology trends.
• Oversee Release Management & Support: Lead Workday release management activities, including impact assessments and testing strategy, create and maintain system documentation and training materials, mentor junior team members, and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, indicating a senior-level career in HR Technology with a focus on Workday systems.
• Experience: 6–8+ years of hands-on Workday experience, including significant end-to-end configuration responsibility in at least two functional areas such as HCM, Recruiting, Talent Management, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, or Integrations.
• Skills: Strong Workday configuration capabilities (business processes, eligibility rules, calculated fields, tenant configuration), proficiency in Workday reporting and data analysis tools (Workday reporting, calculated fields, Excel), demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to translate technical concepts, strong documentation, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
• Bonus: Workday training and/or certifications are strongly preferred (Workday Pro is a plus), and experience with EIBs and data loads is also preferred.
