Legal Practice Assistant | King & Spalding

This role is crucial for providing high-level administrative support to attorneys in the Finance & Restructuring practice group, ensuring efficient operations and exceptional client service within a complex legal environment. Your contributions will directly impact the firm’s ability to meet the needs of its clients through meticulous organization and proactive support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Matter Initiation: Open new matters according to firm guidelines, including preparing engagement letters and conflicts waivers.
• Administrative Coordination: Perform routine administrative duties and collaborate with Office Services, Finance, and Records departments.
• Travel & Scheduling: Coordinate domestic and foreign travel arrangements, prepare itineraries, and manage attorney schedules and calendars for meetings and events.
• Document Production: Create, format, edit, and proofread Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Client & Marketing Support: Interface positively with clients, assist with marketing and business development functions, and process expense reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma required, with core domain knowledge as a legal practice assistant, executive assistant, or project assistant.
• Experience: One to three years of experience as a legal practice assistant, executive assistant, or project assistant preferred.
• Skills: Strong technical, organizational, and administrative abilities, well-developed Microsoft Office skills including intermediate Excel, and the ability to format documents using Styles and proofread for errors.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree preferred, and a typing proficiency of at least 65 words per minute preferred.
