Litigation Docket Specialist | Husch Blackwell

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Husch Blackwell, located remotely or in any of its US locations. • Location: Remote, Multiple US Locations
• Pay: $63000–$128000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Litigation Docket Manager within the Docket Team.
• Mission: Monitors docket requests and accurately records litigation deadlines using firm software and guidelines.
• Tech Stack: CompuLaw Vision, Pacer.gov, PacerPro, Microsoft Office, Adobe products.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Docketing: Independently review documents to identify and accurately docket all deadlines for designated assignment groups.
• Reporting: Create, review, and distribute precise matter reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Research: Research statutory, agency, court, and individual judges’ rules and practices, then apply them appropriately to docketing tasks.
• Support: Respond professionally and constructively to requests from timekeepers and staff regarding docketed dates, agency, and court rules and procedures.
• Improvement: Collaborate with the Litigation Docket Manager to continually enhance the firm’s docketing best practices, policies, and processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: 2-year degree or Paralegal Certificate required, or a combination of education and commensurate work experience in a legal or related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of litigation docketing experience, including calculating and calendaring deadlines in various federal and state courts.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures for federal, state, and local court systems, as well as administrative and government agencies. Ability to research and apply statutory/agency and/or court rules for any jurisdiction, and proficiency in Pacer.gov, PacerPro, Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and Excel for data management.
• Bonus: 4-year degree in a related field preferred, and specific experience using CompuLaw Vision.
