The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Irvine Company Chicago, supporting Irvine Company Apartment Communities, located in coastal California’s desirable locations: San Diego, Orange County, West Los Angeles and Silicon Valley. Irvine Company Apartment Communities offers a portfolio of resort-style apartment communities. This role is critical for leading all phases of community operations, overseeing financial performance, and fostering exceptional customer service for residents, prospects, and vendors. The General Manager provides inspirational leadership and develops the on-site management team to build a legacy of excellence.

• Pay: $116100–$151300 yearly
• Team: Leads and develops the on-site management team.
• Mission: Lead all phases of operation of a single community, multiple communities or super-building.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Operations: Direct all phases of community operations, including leasing, maintenance, and resident services, for single or multiple communities or super-buildings.
• Drive Financial Performance: Manage property financial performance to budget, providing input for planning and identifying opportunities to increase revenue.
• Build and Develop Teams: Recruit, train, onboard, and develop the on-site leadership team, focusing on employee engagement and retention.
• Cultivate Customer Service: Create and maintain a customer service-focused culture for residents, prospects, vendors, and employees, proactively resolving requests and concerns.
• Uphold Standards & Compliance: Ensure communities meet Irvine Company standards through audits and inspections, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level. High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to read and interpret financial statements.
• Experience: 5-7 years of related experience.
• Skills: Customer service leadership; team development, onboarding, and coaching; financial performance management including budgeting and forecasting; comprehensive property operations oversight (leasing, maintenance, resident services); strategic community planning and execution; monitoring and evaluating key performance metrics (NTVs, NPS, social media); auditing and ensuring corporate compliance; strong verbal and written communication in English. Valid California driver’s license with continuous vehicle liability insurance.
• Bonus: Industry certifications (CPM, Real Estate License). Multilingual ability. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Occasional travel.
