Strategic Sourcing Manager, Vice President | Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, working at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and remotely one day. MUFG is one of the world’s leading financial groups, striving to make a difference for every client, organization, and community. This role is crucial for developing and executing comprehensive sourcing strategies to drive efficiency, value, and quality across the organization, directly contributing to saving the Bank money while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.

• Team: Reports to sourcing leadership, provides oversight to other sourcing managers, and interacts with Executive Committee members.
• Mission: To efficiently save the Bank money while maintaining an acceptable level of risk and sustaining value-based interdepartmental relationships.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive strategic sourcing strategies for various lines of business in alignment with defined business and corporate objectives.
• Sourcing Execution: Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, facilitating analysis and collaboration of cross-functional teams to make strategic recommendations leveraging market insights.
• Negotiation & Value Realization: Develop and lead negotiations to maximize total value, minimize risk, achieve cost savings, and meet customer satisfaction targets.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain value-measured relationships with key stakeholders to drive sustained results and conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers to ensure compliance.
• Market Intelligence: Provide full and accurate category market intelligence by leading in-depth analysis, understanding market drivers, and cost structures across the category level.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree with typically 10 plus years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing or category management.
• Experience: 10+ years leading, managing, and developing onsite and offsite staff, including coaching other sourcing managers and influencing cross-functional leaders in a large organization. Proven ability to produce results impacting a broad portfolio of spend, owning delegated authority for decision making, and managing budget, workload, headcount, and team.
• Skills: Strong leadership, management, planning, organizational, analytical, and continuous improvement skills. Possesses strong business acumen, strategic vision, tactical planning, sound judgment, negotiation capabilities, and the ability to solve complex issues.
• Bonus: MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.
