Employee Relations Specialist | The Talent World

The Tone:
This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role, based out of Bradford or Peterborough. The company, Accent, is a housing provider dedicated to supporting colleagues, empowering leaders, and keeping customers central. This role is crucial for fostering a fair, supportive, and high-performing workplace by managing complex employee relations cases and influencing leaders to make positive people decisions.

The TL;DR

• Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in office), Bradford or Peterborough
• Pay: £39,735 per annum (with potential for 5-10% lower for developing skills)
• Team: People Team
• Mission: To deliver a fair, supportive, and high-performing workplace by resolving complex ER issues and building leadership capability.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Handle a diverse and often complex caseload of employee relations matters, including absence, performance, flexible working, conduct, organisational change, disciplinary, and grievance cases.
• Advise: Provide expert, coaching-led, and legally sound support to leaders across Accent on various ER issues.
• Build: Collaborate closely with leaders to enhance their confidence in effectively managing people matters early and fairly.
• Identify: Utilize ER insights and trends to detect emerging risks and propose preventative actions for continuous improvement.
• Influence: Take ownership of varied ER cases, contributing to positive colleague experiences and reducing organisational risk.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrable experience managing a broad range of complex employee relations cases, coupled with strong knowledge of employment law principles.
• Experience: Proven ability to coach, train, and support leaders in building confidence and capability in people management.
• Skills: Sound judgment in assessing and balancing business, legal, and people-related risks, alongside excellent attention to detail for accurate and consistent advice and case management.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a demanding environment.
