Operations Manager, Automation Development | Commure
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Commure, located in Mountain View, CA. Commure is building the AI Operating System for healthcare, a foundational platform that defines how care is delivered, documented, and financed across the full care journey, eliminating administrative burden. This role is crucial for transforming healthcare operations by solving hard operational problems with code, data, and product intuition, directly impacting patient care with immediate results. You will build systems that scale, moving fast and taking full ownership from early thinking to production.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Own Processes: Manage one or more automation surfaces end-to-end, including instrumentation, workflow mapping, data analysis, tool changes, experiment evaluation, rollout, monitoring, and debugging.
• Automate Workflows: Design, test, and operationalize automations across the stack using SQL, APIs, scripts, and emerging tools to improve scalability of claim-related processes.
• Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Account Management teams to influence roadmap priorities and scale successful solutions.
• Analyze and Optimize: Build dashboards and reporting pipelines to monitor productivity, quality, and financial outcomes, identifying bottlenecks and automating fixes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: 2+ years of experience in operations, consulting, or data-heavy roles, preferably at a tech company or fast-paced startup.
• Experience: Proven ability to manage complex projects end-to-end, working autonomously in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
• Skills: Strong SQL fluency for querying, analyzing, and structuring data; excellent problem-solving and systems-thinking skills to diagnose root causes and design scalable solutions; ability to translate domain expert knowledge into scalable automation; rigorous critical thinking when applying and building guardrails for AI outputs.
• Bonus: Experience with AI Automation Infrastructure (Prompt Iteration, Evaluations, Failure Analysis, Agent Workflows, Human-in-the-Loop Design, Confidence Thresholds, Auditability, Production Monitoring); experience in healthcare operations, claims, or billing systems; experience building or integrating workflows via APIs, Python, or web automation tools (Zapier, Retool, custom scripts); experience with agentic workflow development, building orchestration and validation scripts, and working with the cloud.
