The Tone:
This is a Homemaker position at Addus HomeCare, an organization dedicated to providing in-home care services. This role is crucial for helping clients maintain independent living by offering essential non-hands-on assistance. As a Homemaker, you will directly contribute to the well-being and quality of life of clients, fostering a supportive and safe home environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Support & Engagement: Provide companionship, socialization, and emotional reassurance, engaging clients in activities to stimulate their well-being.
• Home Environment Management: Maintain a clean and healthy living space through light housekeeping, home organization, and monitoring supplies.
• Logistical & Nutritional Assistance: Facilitate client errands, appointments, and grocery shopping, alongside preparing simple meals to support adequate nutrition.
• Wellness & Safety Oversight: Offer medication reminders, encourage daily exercise, ensure safety protocols are followed, and report any changes in client status or environment.
• Domestic Support: Care for client pets and water plants, following all written instructions on the service plan.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Successful completion of the Agency qualifying exam and state-required basic homemaker training, including current HIV and ADRD training.
• Experience: One (1) year of current experience (within the past five years) as a homemaker in a home healthcare setting.
• Skills: Demonstrated empathetic attitude towards clients; ability to read and write English; proficiency in basic health and safety principles.
• Bonus: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
