Operations Manager | WM

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at WM, located in various in-person settings. WM is a leading organization focused on waste solutions, where this role is crucial for ensuring the effective onboarding, development, and performance of frontline employees. The Operations Manager builds positive relationships and directly impacts operational excellence and safety by actively engaging with the field team.

• Mission: Own the comprehensive onboarding, development, coaching, and performance management of all frontline drivers and helpers to ensure safe and efficient daily operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Employee Onboarding: Ensure new frontline employees have the necessary tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties.
• Performance & Development: Provide consistent communication and support to frontline employees, focusing on their career goals and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Coaching & Mentoring: Actively practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations, while teaching and developing an understanding of the WM Way.
• Safety Leadership: Lead by example to ensure safety practices are paramount, conducting root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents.
• Operational Compliance: Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies, and daily review and audit of documentation related to route operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma with two (2) years of relevant work experience for a Manager-level role.
• Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience (if without an Associate’s Degree) and a valid Driver’s License upon hire.
• Skills: Coaching and Mentoring, Performance Management, Root Cause Investigation, Regulatory Documentation, Safety Practices.
• Bonus: Successful completion of the WM Operations Manager Trainee program.
