ACCOUNTANT II | State of Arkansas

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Records: Prepare, analyze, and maintain financial records, including accounts, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
• Financial Reporting: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations and policies.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
• Journal Entry Management: Prepare and review journal entries to ensure proper recording of financial transactions.
• Audit Support: Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation to internal and external auditors.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Two years of accounting experience.
• Skills: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (especially in a governmental setting), proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, and advanced knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: Experience with facility finance management, federal grant reporting, financial reconciliation, State budgeting, State procurement processes, State invoicing processes, SAP/AASIS, funds management, and supervisory experience.
