What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Assessment: Develop proficiency in gathering thorough patient histories and executing comprehensive physical examinations to inform accurate diagnostic and treatment pathways.
• Clinical Planning: Collaborate with the supervising veterinarian to create and implement effective treatment plans, integrating various diagnostic approaches and medical management strategies tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Procedural Involvement: Actively engage in the provision of dentistry services and participate in surgical procedures by observing, assisting, or performing under direct supervision, gaining practical procedural skills.
• Diagnostic Application: Utilize and interpret various diagnostic tools and techniques to effectively identify and manage patient conditions, ensuring a robust approach to veterinary care.
• Professional Communication: Enhance vital communication skills through regular interactions with the medical team, support staff, and pet owners, ensuring seamless coordination of care and client education within the clinic’s supportive setting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Doctorate Degree (in progress); Entry-Level. Candidates must be current veterinary students actively enrolled in the clinical portion of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program.
• Experience: Active participation in the clinical curriculum of veterinary school is required, with a preference for students in their final clinical year seeking comprehensive practical exposure.
• Skills: Demonstrated aptitude or foundational knowledge in patient history taking, physical examination techniques, veterinary treatment plan development, diagnostic interpretation, dentistry services, surgical procedure observation/assistance, medical patient management, and professional communication with diverse stakeholders.
