What You’ll Actually Do
• Guest Experience: Prioritize and model a superior guest experience, fostering a positive work environment and consistently upholding brand and merchandise presentation standards.
• Team Leadership: Partner with the Bakery Manager to support the team by recruiting, selecting, training new members, directing daily responsibilities, and providing performance feedback and coaching.
• Operational Oversight: Co-manage critical bakery operations including cake production plans, setting productivity goals, team scheduling, supply ordering, and overseeing sales and labor reporting.
• Financial & Administrative Management: Assist in executing essential administrative responsibilities, which include basic accounting, expense control procedures, payroll processing, cash-drawer balancing, and bank deposits.
• Sales & Community Engagement: Co-manage special-order fulfillment for both individual and corporate accounts, while actively contributing to marketing strategy execution by participating in local brand-building events.
• Hands-On Support: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all bakery roles and step in regularly to perform various responsibilities as business demands require, ensuring smooth operation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a high school diploma or GED, with post-secondary education being an advantage. Candidates should possess guest-facing experience within retail, restaurant, or foodservice environments, ideally in a leadership capacity with increasing managerial duties.
• Experience: Demonstrates a proven track record of 1-3 years in roles where creating a superior guest experience was paramount, along with coaching others, training new team members, directing work, and consistently achieving productivity goals.
• Skills: Exhibit an unwavering guest focus, strong interpersonal abilities to engage and motivate a team, and effective communication skills in both oral and written forms. The role demands strong organizational capabilities, resourcefulness, the ability to balance multiple priorities, and robust problem-solving skills to assess situations and develop solutions.
• Bonus: A strong comfort with learning new technologies is preferred, in addition to basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
